This is a test of using Live Center to publish items from the morning PG.
The concept would be that the team would publish some or all of the briefs throughout the previous day and that morning. They could actually publish more than what goes into the newsletter. The newsletter writer could pick and choose which items to include each morning, and add the additional features that wouldn’t be in the live blog (like the promo of the PG podcast).
In addition to giving up an additional benefit to market to subscribers (get a peek at the first draft of the newsletter each day), using the Live Center to publish also allows us to use its tagging system. This means that readers can come and basically search by person/topic and see everything that has appeared in PG about it.
A couple of outstanding issues we would have to solve for:
- Need to get the formatting of the tags updated by UX
- Need to confirm with Norkon the max size of a live blog (they have other clients using in the same way, so I think we are ok, but we never asked just how much one can hold)
- Figure out what/who has a tag created and a format for them (if we include titles, then they become outdated)
- Do we post this on an article page, or find a way to add it, paywalled, to the PG landing page?
- Do we still publish the complete PG AM on ajc.com each morning? (I think so - this would only have individual items, not the complete and final newsletter).
